Just a little incident...Yesterday we had a zone conference in a city about two hours away from here. There were only 8 Elders there. One of them suddenly flipped a big bug off the cuff of his pants. As luck would have it, it came Alan's way. The Elder was totally embarrassed. Anyway, Alan "took care" of the bug by stepping on it. It could have been a roach, I'm not sure. We just left it there and thought we would get rid of it when the meeting ended. We didn't have to worry about that though. By the end of the meeting an army of tiny ants were working that roach over pretty good. This took place inside a pretty nice church building. Yikes!

Haaaaa How funny...poor Elder flipping a roach on his new mission pres...that's great. I'd get used to the roaches though. That way you'll be more prepared for the dinner plate sized spiders. My friend Trecia from work said that her sister who served in Fortaleza said there were dinner plate sized spiders when you get out farther away from Fortaleza. She does tend to exaggerate a bit though. Hopefully she's exaggerating a lot!

Hey I have heard of the spider Becca is talking about! My friend Brett said it would camoflauge itself on the wood walls and then when it would fall it would make a huge splat noise and hope up and scurry away FAST! He said it was about the size of his hand (open fingers) YIKES!
P.S. I woke up the other night to a tickle tickle... wasn't Lane, it was an EAR WIG on my ARM!!!! Guess you don't have to be in Brazil to be CREEPED out by bugs afterall!
Hi Batts- how are two of my favorite people--I love reading your blog it brings back so may memories, yes spiders those big black furry one's teranchula's, don't mind the spelling, lizard's snake's, mice ect. Yes what eat was a real problem in Guatemala. We were out of the city in the rainforst so the Pres had us eat with the missionaries who had a cook for the first few months till we got use to the food. We ate lots of rice & black beans. You will do great. keep the fun stories comming--The X missionaries
How are some of my favorite missionaries? I love reading your blog it brings back so many memories. Yes we had all kinds of spiders, the big black furry one's teranchula's, poisonas snake in our bedroom, lizard's, mice ect. it made life interesting!! Yes the food is different our Pres had us eat with the missionaries who had a cook for the first few months. We mostly ate rice & black beans. Guatemala only eat black beans, & corn tortillas. great experience, you will love it. Keep the stories comming. The Park X missionaries
