I thought I would post some pictures of some of the things we've been doing for the last time.
Here is Alan settling up with Gean, our taxi driver in Juazeiro. We met him on the first trip there and liked him, so we just kept calling him to drive for us. He took us to his house a time or two to visit with his wife and two little girls. We took them American candy sometimes and they loved it.
Thanks for the safe trips, Gean. There were times I wished you would look at the road a little more while you were driving and visiting with Alan, but we always made it.
It was the last time I'll walk past Snow White and the Dwarfs on the way to our hotel room. (They always made me think of the yard with all the yard "art" on East River Road.) I never did understand how they worked in to the landscaping or general decorating theme of the hotel. Now that I think about it, I don't know if the hotel had a general decorating theme.
Good-bye, Juazeiro.
It was the last time I was signed up to fix lunch for the office elders.
Raimunda helped a lot.
The last time I'll be on an outing with a bunch of crazy, but great, sister missionaries.
The last time a large group of missionaries will sing to us and make us tear up.
The last time Brazilian men will come and pack up our stuff to ship home. I guess that was the first time too.
And I hope it's the last time I boil something dry while I am making a blog post. This apartment reeks! Not to mention that there won't be any potato salad tomorrow for lunch.

Good list of lasts. I'm sure you will have more lasts coming soon. I can't believe we'll be seeing you in 18 days!!! (That deserved three exclamation points, even though I despise exclamation points.)
P.S. No offense, but I doubt those potatoes are the last time you will boil something dry. But...we can always hope!
Holy smokes! You guys are pretty much done!!!
I totally dig the Snow White and 7 Dwarfs—very awesome.
Last times are probably kind of sad right now. Very nice post....and times flies when you're at the computer, we all know that.
It's a good sign that you get teared up at the end, it completes the "blood, sweat and tears" part of giving it your all. Those missionaries have been very lucky to have you both, and I have enjoyed following the blog and sharing in your adventure there. Squeeze the last out of these few weeks, I'm sure you will have a few coconuts in the suitcase!
I cant believe you are coming home soon and ending a chapter in your life. I bet there are a lot of different emotions going on.
Also- I think Aunt Lucy said that that "special house" or houses is in their ward.
Good luck with all the last minute stuff. Looking forward to seeing you again.
I can't believe it is time you are coming home. Wow!! Enjoy the last few weeks and travel home safely.
That 'special house' was one of the first things my mom showed me when I was there last spring. So I understood exactly what you were talking about. :o)
We can't wait to see you. We'll be there on the 2nd of July.
I love that you had a driver and got to know him & his family. There are lots of things & people you will miss, I'm sure.
